Thank you for your interest in contributing to Coucou Home. Since Coucou Home strives to be a magazine that includes many voices, that means many languages, too. We hope you’ll share yours with us.
The mission of Coucou Home's print edition is to create a community art project that shares with others your corner of the universe (the c.o.u. in coucou).
We are seeking poetry, essay, fiction, and interviews on the theme of MOTHER. This theme does not have to be explored literally, but should relate in some way to how we make home in the world. For example, one writer is exploring the idea of being raised with three different languages, and what it means to have a “mother tongue.” This is a chance to turn the idea of mother on its head in relation to home, but you can also address straight on.
*We honor your native language. Submit work in the language you feel most at ease with.
*Essays & fiction should be between 1500 - 3500 words.
*Poetry and interview word counts are flexible.
*Deadline: May 13, 2018.
*Send your final, edited version as a .doc or .page to email@example.com
Illustrations and photography are not being accepted at this time for the print edition. However, if you are a photographer or visual artist and would like to be considered at a later date, please contact us with a portfolio or samples of your work.
The final printed bi-annual magazine will be available free-of-charge throughout Hanoi in early summer. Some stories will be selected for later online publication at coucouhome.com.
Contributors will receive a copy, which will include a limited edition art poster.
